Thanks for stopping by the site. Packer Update is the creation of a longtime fan. My name is Michael Rodney and I was a sportswriter in the 1990s. I worked full-time for a newspaper in New Jersey but I still managed to get quite a few articles about the Green Bay Packers published during that time. I also did numerous radio interviews (most of those stations are now out-of-business, but don’t blame me). I’ve been teaching high school for the past 18 years, and as much as I enjoy it, I really missed writing about the Packers. So that’s why Packer Update exists. I hope you enjoy reading this site as much as I enjoy writing about the most storied franchise in the National Football League.

  1. Great site. You are always my first stop in the morning. Keep up the great work.

    • Hey Michael
Ditto Cris, love your site, how you keep us up to date on the latest and whats going on. I can tell from your articles you want the Pack to win as much as I do and call Ted Thompson out from time to time when he either doesnt make a trade he should or picks the wrong guy in the draft. I also teach HS, but Im not as famous as you, I never worked for a newspaper (delivered a few) or radio stations, but I do teach Communications, both audio and visual, to kids for those who might want to follow people like you into the bus. Keep up the Great site!!

      • Monty- I appreciate the kind words.

I apologize to everyone for the lack of posts, but between work and family, I just don’t have much free time these days. As much as I enjoy writing about the Packers, this site comes in a distant third on my list of priorities. Hopefully, I’ll have more free time in the future and I’ll be able to write some new stories.

  2. Thanks Chris. It’s always nice to know that our hard work is appreciated.

  3. Great site. I’m always amazed at how right you guys usually are and how wrong the newspapers are.

  4. Great site. Tweaked me when you dropped off the map a couple of times but very levelheaded reporting sans the over the top speculation.

I trust this site more than JSonline and Betard. McGinn rocks though even if he’s a dick.

  5. Thanks guys. We work very hard, so it’s always nice to get positive feedback.

Not sure what kind of person Bob McGinn is, but I agree that he’s one heck of a football writer.

  6. I am a Packers fan from Canada and Packer Update makes it easy for someone who has never been to Wisconsin to get excited about Green Bay football.

    Thank you for your efforts!

  7. I have been a Packer fan since 1963 when I was a little kid. The reason I like to read your site is because of the inside information from scouts or related experts. I’m not one and certainly have opinions but love having a different view.

  8. Which paper did you write for in NJ?

  9. I wrote for the Courier-Post. It’s a paper in South Jersey.

  10. Have you spoken with Boris at X4?
